This bus was purchased from the Town of chapel Hill. Now why did I pick this 4523? Simple. It was one of the few 35-foot buses with solid windows. actually, my friend, John Pappas was general manager there and when he ordered these buses, he wanted them similar to the Los Angles order of 5307s with solid windows. Actually, this proved to be a mistake. If the AC was not working, it made these buses miserable. Some cities, like Chicago, replaced with with opening windows.
When and Where Did it Go?
I drove #724 back to California. It developed a problem of leaking oil. Turned out to be a bad piston. This bus was later sold to a private party.
